WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU FEEL AN EARTHQUAKE OR HEAR A
TSUNAMI WARNING.
Post this reminder where is will be seen frequently IF YOU FEEL THE EARTH
SHAKING take cover. In a building, get under a table, stand in a doorway,
get close to a wall. Stay away from windows. Outside, move away from a
building, utility line or structure that might collapse. After the shaking
stops turn on a local radio station for any instructions that may be
given.
IF THE SHAKING IS SO STRONG YOU CANNOT STAND UP be alert for a tsunami
[also called a tidal wave] OR
IF YOU HEAR AN TSUNAMI WARNING ---
DO NOT GO TO OR TOWARDS THE BEACH IMMEDIATELY move to high ground along
Manion or Sea Breeze.
CHECK on your neighbors to see if they need your help, but do not delay
getting to high ground yourself.
When a tsunami strikes it may not just be a single wave. It may be a
series of strong waves over several hours. STAY AWAY FROM THE BEACH UNTIL
YOU ARE ADVISED IT IS SAFE.
DO NOT GO TO OR TOWARDS THE BEACH
