I would like to make you aware that mailchimp, through my own experience, creates spam calls and texts to everyone on your list. Can we find a different way to handle this to help us not be exposed to all of this spam?

Thanks for your inquiry. Your concern is valid but is not necessarily an issue for SPA. Many companies use MailChimp and Constant Contact to enroll new members and then harvest these contacts and sell them to other companies. It is not MC or CC that cause the spam and in fact have a robust anti abuse policies. https://mailchimp.com/help/how-mailchimp-prevents-and-handles-abuse/

SPA is different in that we only have emails of verified SP residents in MailChimp and only Debbie and I enter those in manually. We do not link our SPA database to MailChimp for updating and never share this list with anyone. This is to prevent just the issue you describe.

Secondly, our new SPA database is SalesForce and was designed by Debbie, Scott Roose and myself. Scott is also a Sales Force consultant. It is designed to be secure with only the three of us having access.  The directory comes from our database. When it is created it is saved as a more secure pdf not excel.  It is only accessible by our member only web or if I send out notice to the verified members we have manually entered.

While nothing is ever totally secure but with Scott’s expertise and Debbie’s diligence we have a more secure system then most.  I am available most of today if you want to discuss further. My number is 509-993-3889. Tom Smith
