Part 1 of Clatsop Plains Chronicles: Early Surf Pines

August 2019 was the 50th anniversary for the Surf Pines association and we put together a 30-minute video on the history of early Surf Pines. This video includes several stories on why the North Coast of Oregon was truly the wild wild west in the early years of development on the coast. It includes interviews with Richie Schroeder on how the first 24 lots of Surf Pines were not ocean front as well as other great stories about a bootlegger in the early 30’s on west side of Sunset Lake and how we missed having a racetrack next door among many other interesting stories.
